But I doubt that has any influence on davinci. But, the list of improvements doesn’t end there. The only thing I have installed that has to do with codecs is the klite codec pack. Remember that if you are adding a new folder or location for your media in project manager that you will have to restart resolve so it will access that location. You can set the optimized media to ProRes encoding, but you wont be able to output ProRes files as a delivery format.

I can take 4k h265 direct from my nx1, put it in the media pool and drop or put it straight on a timeline. DaVinci Resolve 12 includes over 80 new features like multi-cam, advanced trimming, high performance audio and more. I can't help without knowing more, so maybe you can walk through the media import procedure again.

Resolve has supported h265 4k for several months but it wouldn't import the audio until this update. The main benefit for me is that we can now do away with Quicktime as Prores support is now built in. ffmpeg or Handbrake are the preferred tools for this, but be careful when selecting your output format, as going from H.264 to H.264 can reduce the quality of your video if youre not careful. So youll want to get that fixed by transcoding your video to a constant frame rate before you start hacking away in Resolve. I have installed it in Windows and I get nothing. Does not appear to support H.265 in Windows.
